Reflections 1st Shoot

Image
For our first photo shoot, myself and George had multiple images and poses we performed to see what would fit best and thus deciding these two images. The green screen on the day, had been creased which meant it effected the image but we would only be replacing the backgrounds to which our image would be much enhanced. We was happy with the images but the time frame we had in the room held us back as well as, the screen.

Advert Analysis

Image
The advert on show here is representing Apple music and actor James Cordon. The scenes connote James being different singers with different music scenes he replicates which is a tool of humour for the audience to laugh at him during the video. This makes the audience feel a part of the video and is known as reader interaction. He is a popular figure in the UK as well as the US, due to his own TV show which interviews huge upcoming celebrities. His character connotes sarcasm and entertainment for all to enjoy with his laid back and open personality. This lets his audience expand even into children as his character is presentable to all with no expletives or violence.

Goodwin Analysis

Image
Within Goodwin's theory, she found eight key points: - Firstly, there were links between music and visuals: Within this Goodwin's theory suggests the link between music and visuals can be complimentary. For example in Kanye West' Stronger he represents the idea of being on fire and growing bigger as representing the 'stronger' brand. He has a - Next, there was a link between visuals and lyrics: The Kanye West video represents the link of visuals as the theme suggests' stronger' and it has connotations with the army and the way order is showing power. - Genre characteristics: For all music videos whether it be indie, pop, rock and rap. They all feature stereotypical pieces for example, within rap a black artist usually represents gangster-like attitudes with bling. This is featured within this music video with the sunglasses and the low jeans to appeal to a wider range of audience. - Intertextual references -Notions of looking: This focuses ...

Critical Response

Image
During our class presentation, we had asked our classmates for the analysis of our video based upon their opinions. The drawbacks for our music video included the scenes which we filmed our video in one area rather than multiple like we originally planned but this was due to weather and places out of bounds. Another criticism of our media production is, the camera angles we had in our video was a mixture of landscape as well as portrait which made it have an informal look. The positives behind our video on the other hand was our lighting, which gave our video a unique look and was a professional feature within any huge music production. Another positive within our video was our editing, this was key as its what makes most of R.Kelly's videos which we had to convey for our music to succeed.

Carol Vernallis Analysis

Image
Carol Vernallis has created a concept which she named 'The Kindest Cut' which includes things such as: -Difference in film editing -Role of editing in narrative, meaning and continuity -How image and sound are synchronised -How editing reflects the music -How close ups and images help influence the key character Tainted love by Soft Cell, is produced in which is an image in front of a green screen which was the pinnacle of technology in the era. The background image reflects space which creates an illusion to the audience. The close up of the face also enhances the singers personal voice. The better the video looks the wider range of audience they can expand to. Aha's Take On Me is, a cartoon like based video. It has some imagery of the real actor which then fade into these animations which have been hand drawn. This reflects the video costing lots at the time of generating it.
