Album Covers

The two examples I have used here is Rolling Stones with their approach of the tongue always sticking out which you know straight away is associated with the band. This helps the recognition of the group as well as there brand becoming worldwide with a simple logo.  The tongue  logo was designed by John Pasche in 1970. He said: I wanted something anti-authority, but I suppose the mouth idea came from when I met Mick Jagger for the first time at the stones.   Another example is Pink Floyd and their triangle with a spectrum of lighting beaming out the side and again is easily recognisable to everybody. The beam itself represents a person being born with the prism acting as their life, whereas the colours represent everything they've been through whether it being difficult or joyous.

Auteur Theory

The auteur theory is when the director is perceived to be the creative force when making a motion picture,it was brought from France in the 1940s. An example of a company who will have used this theory is Universal where the filmmakers would demand the final cut. This occurs when the directors oversee all the visual and audio as well as fundamental elements like lighting, shadows, background music and the location which is vital in the music video. The example I have put in place is Despacito which was a part of Universal pictures and you can see the different elements of location and lighting incorporated into the video to try get the best out of it.
