1000 word AS review

AS review/summary

From the beginning to the end,  media AS proved difficult as well as fun in learning and laughter.

At the start of the year, I was at beginners level in the world of media such as how to learn to use things like Photoshop and Sony Vegas but to think how I've massively progressed since then is unbelievable. Being able to make SpongeBob talk like it was an episode and putting a picture in over a green screen I something which I would never thought I could do but that could has now changed to a can. I can now make a magazine which in my personal opinion should be published, just saying, but all jokes aside its been a great experience.

Next, I want to say about creating my magazine which was probably the most work I have ever done in my life but the cold mornings of town for a photo-shoot and the relief of living in a big city helped me a lot to want to do this. The various shots and poses which would add up to a lifetime of images was narrowed down to about 20 but it was well worth the wait. The green screen could also add to the list of a lifetime but the hours spent within there was a hard grafting but I never gave up on it. The thing I loved the most about the green screen room was that it gave you a feeling of a professional company filming or advertising with the equipment available to use within the school.

We also went on a trip to Media City, we had a tour of the BBC studios where we seen how they differ between four different channels (BBC Sport, CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC News)
We also took a look into how BBC Radio produce everyday 24/7 live shows with different hosts and the range of equipment for example the microphone- there was four main microphones to allow interviews for up to 4 people, the setup- radio hosts change up their setup so they know what is best for them and to avoid errors before going live, the music- over 20 million records within the studios and people are allowed to send in music so BBC can give them recognition, the computers- top equipment which runs programmes fast and has a wide database to store music. I got to also learn how you can work within the BBC with the different job roles such as analysing sports, being a part of the technical team, working on the news and radio stations. It showed us the sort of situation if you were to go into a media based company or not.
